perspectives

The aim is for »Transfer International« to be an ongoing project with further calls for applications in 2020. The continuation and realisation of this Transfer beyond 2019 is based on a pronounced and sustainable interest by Greek and North Rhine-Westphalian cultural operators and institutions and supported by a sufficient number of eligible projects.

This desired outcome will lead to the set-up of an advisory board to choose projects from the round of applications taking place in 2019 and 2020. In addition, forums will be set up in both Greece and NRW consisting of experts, cultural operators and managers. Their purpose will be to set out joint and apt criteria for developing, evaluating and funding the cooperation projects based on an awareness of the probably partly-different understanding of concepts and terminology and above all, of practical approaches.

The aim is then to create two specialist advisory boards made up of forum members taken equally from both countries. From 2019 onwards, these will support the work on the cooperation projects in terms of content and guide their funding choices.

Provided that »Transfer International«, as intended, continues into 2020, the NRW KULTURsekretariat, as the main organiser, will contribute up to 100,000€ to support the project and the organisation of the event management and overall administration in 2020. It is possible that extra funding could come from the Ministry of Culture and Science of the state of NRW. Travel to NRW could be supported by the International Visitors Programme, set up in 2009, and coordinated and guided by the NRW KULTURsekretariat in cooperation with the state of NRW. Furthermore, the Visitors Programme works in cooperation with cultural operators and cultural institutions within NRW as well as with the Goethe-Institut and external cultural organisations.
